This is Gary Lee
I am the founder of the Museum of Sport Karate
The history of American sport karate lives in more than tournament records and photographs. It lives in the stories, friendships, rivalries and achievements of the men and women who helped build the sport.
The Museum of Sport Karate was created to preserve that history—and to make sure the pioneers, champions and personalities who shaped American martial arts are remembered by future generations.
A Message From Founder Gary Lee
“Our museum’s vision is a story that unfolds before your eyes—a history of sport martial arts told through relics, uniforms, belts, photographs and documents from the glorious past of a sport whose history is long overdue for recognition.
The memories of our past sport martial arts leaders are priceless, and we have built a home for those memories.
The Museum of Sport Karate preserves the history of sport karate and martial arts through photographs, books, videos, articles, magazines, newspapers and special relics from the past. Visitors can discover old belts from many different styles, awards, autographs, rare certificates, patches, decals, rings, historic documents, uniforms and weapons—items that the general public may never have had an opportunity to see before.”
